About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My journey with Adventures in Missions all began in 2014 when I had a life-changing experience on the World Race with Adventures! You can read all about it at my World Race blog at amydeming.theworldrace.org

I arrived home late November, ready to move abroad as a long-term missionary, a desire of mine since my first mission trip in 2003. In January 2015, I attended a week-long conference, Project Searchlight, and the Lord shook me up!

While there, I heard about Center for Global Action (CGA), a 4 month discipleship program focusing on a specific track God has called you in. Attracted by their long-term missions (LTM) training track, I moved to Gainesville, Georgia one week later, and spent the next four months in CGA.

After CGA, I began a part time job in the STM department and prayed a lot about what was next. I thought (again) I would be moving overseas right away to be a LTM, but God had other plans. 🙂

In August, He asked if I would stay in Gainesville for a year; being a missionary here and being the hands and feet of Jesus to the people in my community. After much thought, I said yes and signed a 12 month lease on a house!

At the same time, the STM Department was looking to hire someone full time for a yearlong commitment. I prayed about it and decided I really like Adventures. 🙂 I love how they use redeemed and transformed individuals to partner with the Holy Spirit in His work in the nations.

So I said yes and here I am! I started working full time with Adventures in Ocbober 2015. Our STM participants have the opportunity to make an impact on those who don’t know Jesus or are stuck in a poverty mentality and need the richness that the Gospel provides. I help make these trips a possibility for them. I also get to lead a few trips!

I look forward to sharing with you more about my journey with Adventures and the work they are doing!
